Why we must not eat Garlic

Why we must not eat Garlic? 1. Here is the Mythological Story behind not eating Garlic During Kruti yug there was a king named Hiranyakashyapabetter known as the father of Baktha Prahlada, who also had a daughter named Simhika(Simhita). Simhika was married to Viprachitti. They had 100 sons and one daughter. First born was named Swarbhanu. Devas and Asuras were churning ocean for a nector called Amruthawhich would give immoratality on drinking it (well There were other reasons as well). Devtas were lead by Indraand Asuras were lead by Bali who was the son of Baktha Prahladaand also the uncle of Swarbhanu. After They got amrutha from churning, Vishnu took form of a woman(mohini) and convinced the asuras and devas to sit apart. Swarbhanu the nephew of Bali found something fishy about it and sat amongst devas(Surya and Chandra in particular). With no intention of giving the amrutha to Asuras, Vishnu poured it all to the devas and Swarbhanu drank it along with the devas. Surya and Chandra found something odd about Swarbhanu’s attire and complained about him to Vishnu. Vishnu realizing that he is an asura, quickly released his sudarshana chakra to decapitate him. Bali went to Lord Shiva For justice for which shiva condemned vishnu’s action and asked his son Ganesha to deal with Swarbhanu’s situation as he had an experience with his own encounter of similar type. Ganesha Replaced Swarbhanu’s Head With A dragon’s Body to be called as Rahu and torso with Dragon’s head to be called as Ketu. The blood that droped from the head and torso on Earth grew up into plants- ONION and GARLIC, just like the drops of Amrutha fell from tumblr that devas and asuras were carrying off shore to grow up into GANJA (Which Lord Shiva Consumed as he could not drink amrutha, since he was storing poison in his throat). Since onion and garlic were not of god’s direct creation and it was also born through blood(of an Asura) it is of pure TamasikNature. Bramhin is of sathvik nature and he has to maintain that nature at all cost for which he has to eat only Sathvik Food and avoid Rajasik (Extreme spices, deep fried..) and Tamasik (Meat, rotten..) food at all cost. 2. Here is the Spirituo-Scientific Reason behind not eating Garlic The human body has three Nadis present inside Sushumna - Vajri, Chitrini, and Brahma Nadi. Each Nadi represents a Guna, with Vajra Nadi representing Tamasi Guna, Chitrini Nadi representing Rajasi Guna, and Brahma Nadi representing Saavik Guna. According to the information provided, consuming Garlic and Non-Vegetarian food increases Tamasi Guna and activates Vajra Nadi. Therefore, it is best to avoid such food to maintain a balanced state of mind. The primary objective of meditation is to increase Saatvik Guna, which can be achieved by controlling one's thoughts, speech, and actions. Focusing on Saatvik Guna while avoiding Tamasi or Rajasi Guna can lead one to realize their true self. Therefore, maintaining a Saatvik diet and striving to increase Saatvik Guna through meditation and other activities like yoga can help a person achieve self-realization and lead a balanced and fulfilling life.
Garlic has been used for centuries not only as a flavoring agent but also for its potential health benefits. However, it's important to note that while garlic has some beneficial properties, it may not be suitable for everyone, and its effects may vary from person to person. Here are some commonly mentioned benefits and non-benefits associated with eating garlic: Benefits of Eating Garlic: Nutritional Value: Garlic is low in calories but rich in nutrients such as vitamin C, vitamin B6, manganese, and selenium. It also contains small amounts of various other vitamins and minerals. Antimicrobial Properties: Garlic possesses antimicrobial properties and has been traditionally used to fight bacterial, viral, and fungal infections. Some studies suggest that garlic may help boost the immune system and support overall health. Heart Health: Garlic has been associated with potential cardiovascular benefits. It may help reduce blood pressure, lower total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol levels, and improve blood circulation. These effects are attributed to compounds like allicin and other sulfur compounds found in garlic. Antioxidant Properties: Garlic contains antioxidants that help protect the body from oxidative damage caused by free radicals. Antioxidants may have a positive impact on overall health and potentially reduce the risk of chronic diseases. Anti-Inflammatory Effects: Some research suggests that garlic may have anti-inflammatory properties. Chronic inflammation is associated with various health conditions, and garlic consumption may help modulate the inflammatory response. Non-Benefits of Eating Garlic: Digestive Issues: Garlic can cause gastrointestinal discomfort in some individuals, leading to symptoms such as bloating, gas, heartburn, or upset stomach. People with sensitive stomachs or digestive disorders may be more prone to experiencing these issues. Odor: One well-known non-benefit of consuming garlic is the strong and distinct odor it can leave on the breath. This can be a concern for some people, particularly in social or professional settings. Allergies or Sensitivities: While relatively rare, some individuals may have allergies or sensitivities to garlic. Allergic reactions can vary in severity and may include symptoms such as skin rashes, itching, swelling, or difficulty breathing. If you suspect an allergy, it's important to seek medical advice. Interaction with Medications: Garlic, particularly in supplement form or in high doses, may interact with certain medications, including blood-thinners, antiplatelet drugs, and some HIV medications. If you're taking any medications, it's best to consult with a healthcare professional before significantly increasing your garlic consumption. It's worth noting that scientific research on the specific health benefits of garlic is ongoing, and while some studies suggest potential advantages, more evidence is needed to draw definitive conclusions. As with any dietary change or supplementation, it's advisable to consult with a healthcare professional or a registered dietitian for personalized advice based on your individual health status and needs
